The Chicken Mofongo was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and it was cooked to perfection. I travel all the way from The Villages for this dish, it's worth it!
We have eaten here several times and have tried just about everything on the menu. Always outstanding and highly recommend coming at any time and whatever your mood. There's always something fantastic for you on the menu.
Great sandwich! So much pork inside, I got the itis and passed out happily. Woke up and ate the best tres leches Ive had (I grew up in Ybor). Plus the plantain chips were perfect.
So good. Everything in the platter was cooked to perfection. Flavorful and plentiful
The churrasco and mofango dish was excellent and we had leftovers to enjoy for another day. Well worth the trip to find this new restaurant. The server was very friendly and the restaurant was quaint and relaxing near the water in downtown Tavares. Highly recommend.
I visited your restaurant because of the name. My parents lived in Cuba for many years. Owned a Cigar Factory in downtown Havana. And then sadly experienced the 1959 Castro regime. I was raised here in the US, but heard so many wonderful stories of Cuba. My mother said it was the most beautiful place in the world and that there were no better people. She learned to cook from her nursemaid...true authentic Cuban cuisine. Ropa Vieja, black beans and rice , so many wonderful delicious dishes! She made the best Cuban sandwich I've had to this day. Both of my parents are gone now. As I sat in your restaurant, alone, enjoying your decor and the amazing smells drifting from the kitchen......just taking it all in and remembering a time when my parents and I would sit around the table, enjoying one of my mother's authentic Cuban meals and the stories of another day....a more peaceful day in Cuba. I had your Palomilla with tostones and black beans and rice...my absolute favorite when I was a little girl. I savored every bite and relished in the memories that came back. As satisfied as I was , I had to end my experience with your authentic flan and cafe Cubana. It was like tasting a little bite of Heaven with each spoonful. Thank you for taking me back in time. I can't wait to come back and try so many more of your dishes!
Nice, cool, and refreshing! Fresh every time. Great salad dressing.
Thr best cuban cuisine
Being part Cuban has given me the ability to try a lot of Cuban sandwiches. This is one of the best by far. The flavor of the pork and the toasty bread is just perfect. Paired with plantain chips or maduros, you can't go wrong!
This is an incredibly delicious take on a Cuban classic! The beans were nicely seasoned, warm, and the perfect consistency. Well done, Havana 1959! Yum!!
I absolutely LOVED my meal when I went to Havana 1959. It was my first time visiting and will not be the last! The steak sandwich was everything I was hoping for a more. The steak was seasoned just right and was nice and soft when eating my sandwich. I also enjoyed the original flan and I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to go back and try something else, the only thing I could complain about is having a hard time deciding what to eat because the menu has so many delicious items at a reasonable price.
So good. Best I've ever w
The Roast Pork was so delicious and the portions were very generous. I've been thinking about this meal ever since!

Best mofongo I've had locally! Truly reminds me of home!
Meat was done perfectly and the spices in the marinade add the right amount of flavor. Definitely a do over!
THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC. The food, service, and portions are to die for. The Pork Ossobuco, Oxtail and Picadillo is to die for. Fantastic friendly staff. Can not do enough to please you. The best eatery in central Florida and we dine out frequently. DO NOT PASS UP THIS RESTAURANT.
